Summer, Shipping, and More!
Here at Flaherty's, we make our candy the old-fashioned way: by hand, from a family recipe that includes a lot of butter. We're also allergy-sensitive, so we won't use preservatives or artificial flavors. The result is incredible candy that we're proud to make and excited to share.
The downside to this process? Well, real-butter candy melts in the heat. This means we can't ship our candies during the summer, or they won't meet our high standards for quality by the time they arrive. The other problem summer poses is high humidity here in our Midwest home. Believe it or not, it's almost impossible to produce small-batch, high-butterfat candy in the sort of weather we get in the summers.
The result is this: we have a limited stock of candy made when the weather allows it, which is available for pickup to our local customers, but we aren't able to ship to you until the weather cools off. We hope you understand, and appreciate your interest in our homemade toffees, sweet n' salty selections, Irish cremes, and more, even in the thick of summer!
We typically begin shipping candy again at the beginning of October.
Thank you, as always, for shopping small, and we hope to see you at a show later this year!
Have a great summer,
- Joy & Dennis
